   Even though the team was a man down for the match, each player stepped up and played hard. The squad has many new players on the team and it will take several games to get adjusted to each other. Kyle L. scored 3 goals, and Devon scored one.

   This game could be the making of a good rivalry, with many of the players knowing each other very well. Shaw was one of the top teams from last season, so this would be a good test for newly formed Hawks. The game was back and forth with the lead changing several times. The Hawks needed a goal late in the game from captain Joseph T. to tie the game. That was his second goal against his former team.

Coastal Carolina

 

   We had the privilege of playing two games against NCAA Div. I power, Coastal Carolina University. Considering this team typically plays spring scrimmages against professional teams from the MLS, we considered this a great honor and a wonderful opportunity for our team.

Game #1  

   The teams were well matched and the game began with both sides making good plays. 0-0 after twenty minutes. But then conditioning started to become a factor, as CC kept pressing and making powerful runs to the goal. The half ended 3-0. In the second half, fatigue became our worst enemy, as CC kept up the attack and scored 4 more goals. We could not muster up any good attempts at the goal. A disappointing loss but the whole experience was tremendous. Being able to be on the field with future professionals and playing at that level is something to be proud. It's what every amateur dreams of, a chance to play at a pro-level.
